Social Responsibility: Contributing to the Community
Manulife-Sinochem (MSL) is committed to social responsibility in the Chinese communities in which it operates and contributes to several organizations working on behalf of worthwhile causes for the betterment of society, such as poverty reduction, cancer and critical illness research, disabled facilities, improving the environment and children's education.
MSL's yearly corporate social responsibility project "Social Commitment Day" – has gained in impact in both the insurance industry and among local communities.

Fostering 37℃ ——2011 "MSL Social Commitment Day"
In a donation ceremony held on Dec 3rd 2011, or the 20th International Day of Disabled Persons, MSL expressed its care to elderly cataract sufferers in Xichong county of Sichuan Province by providing them with free cataract surgeries. The event was held in Xichong People's Hospital where 100 poor elderly cataract sufferers are to restore their eyesight.
"Fostering 37℃", MSL's 2011 annual "Social Commitment Day" charity event, was an effective continuance to that in 2010. More than 26,000 charity lights were sold by MSL staff, agents and customers to raise funds which, combined with those raised from 2010's "37℃ warmth" event, will be used to help nearly a thousand elderly cataract sufferers restore their eyesight.
Manulife-Sinochem Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Support for the Shanghai School for Blind Children
Manulife-Sinochem Life Insurance Co. (MSL) announced today that it has made a donation to the Shanghai School for Blind Children in conjunction with its 15th anniversary celebrations. The money will go towards the purchase of visual aids to facilitate learning and improve the lives of all students suffering from low visual capabilities at the school.
